Q Strategies partnered with Station 33 to announce the start of construction on one of Chattanooga’s largest mixed-use developments, supporting the project’s communications strategy, media relations, social media and groundbreaking event from planning through execution.
Station 33, located at South Broad Street and 33rd Street, represents a $130 million investment in Chattanooga’s Southside. The development will bring a mix of hospitality, residential, office, retail and dining space to the area, including a boutique hotel, residential units, office space, retail, a food hall and a parking deck.
Leading up to the groundbreaking, the Q Strategies team worked closely with the Station 33 development team to build awareness around the project and communicate its vision to the Chattanooga community. The team developed and distributed press releases, coordinated media outreach, provided ongoing communications support and created social media content to highlight project milestones and keep the community informed.
Q Strategies managed the planning and coordination of the Station 33 groundbreaking from beginning to end. The team developed the event strategy and run-of-show, coordinated with project partners and vendors, assisted with event logistics, prepared communications materials and worked to ensure the ceremony reflected the scale and vision of the development.
When the initial event date had to be delayed due to thunderstorms, the team made the most the additional media coverage and worked quickly to reschedule vendors and ensure that speakers and invitees were informed about changes.
The event brought together project partners, elected officials, community leaders, business leaders and members of the Chattanooga community to celebrate the beginning of construction.
Q Strategies coordinated the event’s staging and sound, signage, food and beverage vendors, photography and other event details. The team also worked with speakers to prepare remarks and coordinated the media component of the event, including outreach before the groundbreaking and on-site media coordination.
Media relations were a key component of the Station 33 launch. Before the groundbreaking, Q Strategies distributed a media advisory and pitched the event to local outlets, providing reporters with project information and details about the ceremony.
The Aug. 20 groundbreaking generated coverage across several Chattanooga media outlets, including Local 3 News, FOX Chattanooga, Chattanooga Times Free Press, The Pulse and NOOGAtoday. Local 3 News and FOX Chattanooga provided television coverage of the groundbreaking, while the Times Free Press, The Pulse and NOOGAtoday highlighted the project's $130 million investment, development plans and significance to Chattanooga's Southside.
Following the event, Q Strategies continued media outreach and distributed post-event communications to extend the story beyond the groundbreaking itself.
Q Strategies also supported Station 33's social media presence throughout the project launch, creating content around project milestones, the groundbreaking and earned media coverage.
From the first project announcements through the groundbreaking, Q Strategies helped create a consistent communications strategy across media relations, social media and event communications.
The Station 33 groundbreaking marked the beginning of construction on a project that will transform a prominent area of Chattanooga's Southside.
