Q Strategies’ founding partner and chief strategist daily activities include providing counsel and strategic guide to clients regarding crisis management, government relations and media relations. In addition, Griscom serves on a number of boards including the Tennessee Board of Regents and the UC Foundation.
However, as a former White House communications director under Ronald Reagan and former editor of Chattanooga's Times Free Press, Griscom is also sought out by local and national news sources often. His expertise and professional background make him just the right person to comment on some of Washington D.C.’s top news. Most recently, Griscom penned an op-ed for The Atlantic in response to a White House insider's letter to the New York Times suggesting President Trump is unfit for office. In the piece, Griscom discussed his own experience in the White House, when a colleague expressed concern that President Reagan was not fit to serve. Using his trademark wit and eloquence, Griscom discussed the players, their feelings and how they worked through that delicate and serious situation. NPR and BBC conducted follow-up interviews with him after The Atlantic published his letter.
When first Barbara, then George H. W. Bush, passed this year, local news channels, including WRCBtv, NewsChannel9 and the Times Free Press, contacted Griscom for his remembrances about his personal experiences with the Bush family.
Q Strategies is proud to have a leader in Tom Griscom at the helm. Not only did he serve his country from the halls of the White House, but by sharing his experiences, Griscom sheds even more light on the inner workings of government communications.
