Flexible, Paid Internship Opportunity at Q Strategies – A Public Relations & Marketing Firm

 

Why Q Strategies: Our small team is dedicated to providing meaningful learning opportunities to the right student. Q Strategies offers hands-on learning from our account executives and firm partners. We follow best practices for research, implementation and measurement of outcomes over outputs. That means you will often have the opportunity to participate at the strategy level, rather than task level only, giving valuable insight into the development of a full public relations strategy.

 

Requirements:

●      A minimum of one previous internship is required.

●      Students should be able to show the completion of key classes toward a degree in Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations.

●      Junior/Senior in College.

 

This position will provide comprehensive guidance and oversight.

 

Position Timeframe: September - December 2024 (flexible dates, and opportunities for an extended internship into the Spring of 2025.)

 

Additional Information:

●      15-20 hours per week

●      $12.00 an hour

 

We are located at 715 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402.

 Student responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Learn best practices for communication, events, media outreach, and social media

  • Draft new-hire announcements for clients

  • Draft press releases for clients

  • Support event planning for real estate projects

  • Develop content using Canva for presentation decks

  • Website updates using SquareSpace and Wordpress

  • Creating newsletters using MailChimp

  • Draft meaningful social media content for clients and Q Strategies

  • Review media coverage that mentions a client (using Google Alerts)

  • Scout media opportunities for clients (HARO and editorial calendars)

  • Work with account executives to draft press releases and media advisories

  • Draft website content and blogs for clients and Q Strategies

  • Industry-specific market research for new clients

  • Example: Identifying best practices for messaging channels in the healthcare industry

  • Research regarding industry-specific trade associations and publications

  • Learn SEO best practices and tools to identify improvement opportunities for clients and Q Strategies

  • Repurposing content for clients

  • Example: Finding a published tech report and creating a blog post about the product’s benefits

     

Technical skills needed:

Writing

Social Media Management

Microsoft Office

Squarespace/Wix/Wordpress

Canva

Photography/Videography 

On-the-job training for the above tools will be considered for the right candidate.

Because we work with a variety of clients, this role is perpetually changing and developing. The right candidate will bring some of the above skills to the company, and be dedicated to cross-training to add new skill sets to the firm’s team. This position manages projects but has no direct reports. 

This is not a remote position.
